I just found this link to the new boats Gulf Mark is building at BAE in Mobile, Al. They are pretty impressive looking, says they are going to be 288 feet long, and they options to build 2 more.
I also found that BAE is building a 616 foot tanker for Midocean tanker co. It says it is going to be a jones act approved ship named the “American Phoenix”

Very impressive indeed! The offshore has come a very long way from those old 180’ Halter Marine boats of the 70’s! (My first master’s job was running one of those in Alaska converted into a fish processor)
