Green Hydrogen

Future Proof Shipping, the Flagships project, and ZEM Ports NS project gathered key stakeholders to celebrate the successful launch of the H2 Barge 2 at Holland Shipyard Group´s Werkendam facility, just outside Rotterdam.

About the EU Flagships Project:

PS> Zero GHG emission is subject to the fuel used being “green hydgrogen”

Maybe a new drilling boom is coming your way:

Could natural hydrogen solve some, if not ALL the problems foreseen in finding a “green” source of energy for steel production, heavy transport vehicles, shipping and even aviation?:

It is found “everywhere”:

Bring on the Airships.

They have to get a new name, “BS” has issues.

Any good projects to present?

Green hydrogen produced in the heart of the petroleum industry?:

More hydrogen news from the US:

PS> That could revolutionizeUS domistic shipping. (If the Jones Act survive another 5 years, that is.

Korean yards are working towards developing Hydrogen Fuel cell technology for propulsion of large vessels on long voyages:

[quote]
“Green shortsea vessels with hydrogen power is our route to zero-emissions shipping. We are convinced hydrogen fuel would be available if we build the vessels,” said Mr Vedder.

PS> It doesn’t say whether it will be “green” or “blue” hydrogen from source, but it will be “clean” when it is distributed in Europe.

The hydrogen supply chain is taking shape:

Just read this old post. I am a bit skeptical that they are getting 50kW out of a little single cylinder engine turning less than 10K rpm and that off the shelf generator looks more like one for a home standby unit turning 3600 maximum. It has lots of shiny parts and expensive hoses though, that should attract some investors.

More about the Carnot engine:

That video doesn’t say anything about the engine shown. It looks like a proof of concept device to test the ceramic components of an entirely different engine design that shows up in the background on whiteboards. My comment was not skepticism about the Carnot cycle or ceramic engine components, both have been in development for decades, it was about the claim that the engine shown produced 50kW. Nowhere in any of marketing material does the startup company provide any information about the demonstrator engine shown. This reminds me of Guy Negre’s MDI air car project, more hot air than reality, more hype than data, more marketing than machinery. It also reminds me of another more amusing local attempt to finance a “revolutionary breakthrough” in energy production.
