Getting discouraged as an OS

That’s ridiculous. When I was a tug deckhand OS pay was $170, AB $230, Capt $575.

Go right to Kirbys website, inland OS deckhand, 150.00 a day. 28/14 or 14/7 but it’s a job.

Deep sea foreign sailing non-government contract ships in the US fleet is stagnant and dying, the other segments especially inland is not.

The guys/ gals below have their ears closer to the ground than me, but with the legalization/ relaxation of pot laws in multiple states more and more entry level mariners are getting popped by the USCG DOT screen, so much so, I would advise as many others below have, that you need to continue pounding the pavement, burn up the phone lines, and email all the companies you can. You sound like you want tugs, coastwise and or inland towboats. Well at least those sectors have a large growth future. good luck
