I like it when I go down to the galley for a few minutes when we are tied up and he gets up, grabs a bottle of 409 and a rag and starts walking around spraying stuff.
I just think to myself… You arent fooling anyone. I used to be a deckhand too.

On the SEA SKIMMER, we had a Spanish OS who had a different way about him. One night, the Chief Mate, on watch, called down to the galley, where “Tony” was. The conversation went something like this:
CM: Tony, make a cup of coffee for me and send it up in the elevator.
OS: I cannot.
CM: Why not, Tony?
OS: I have many things to do.
