For anyone who wants to watch it in real time.
All the arguments that it âshouldâ be U.S. policy to reduce the number of troops in the Middle East are irrelevant in this case because thatâs not what is happening.
The American forces that is withdrawn from Syria will not be allowed to remain in Iraq:
Excellent newsâŚthx for posting
Turkey and Russia has reached a deal on Northeast Syria. Here is the full text of the deal:
Please note that neither the US, Iran or the Syrian Government are not mentioned with one word.
An exploding graph. I think this is called a curve with an exponential growth. Worrying.
very much so
Trump boasted earlier that he would bring home the troops. This is quite the opposite. The only difference is that the Russians have in the mean time taken over the power in the region. What kind of haphazard policy is this? There doesnât seem to be any plan in place, just day by day impulse driven decision making.
Maksim Yusin, the editor of international politics at the leading Russian business daily Kommersant , was amazed by the ongoing stream of inexplicable actions by the American president that benefit the Kremlin. âAll of this benefits the Russian Federation,â Yusin marveled. âYou know, Iâve been watching Trumpâs behavior lately and get seditious thoughts: maybe he really is a Russian agent? He is laboring so hard to strengthen the international image of Russia in generalâand Putin in particularâŚIn this situation, Americansâto their chagrin and our enjoymentâare the only losers in this situation.â
âThis is such a pleasure,â grinned Olga Skabeeva, the host of Russiaâs state television program 60 Minutes . âRussian soldiers have taken an American base under our complete control, without a fight!â Skabeevaâs co-host Evgeny Popov added: âSuddenly, we have defeated everyone.â Incredulously, Skabeeva pointed out: âThis is an American baseâand they just ran away! Trump ran away!â
How true these comments are and how sad all this is! This really pains me. The Russians crying victory and are in the driver seat in that region now.
Not only that but while Trump is claiming heâs reducing the number of U.S. troops in the region itâs not true. Itâs the worse of both worlds.
Sigh⌠What a man, nothing can surprise me anymore. Whatâs next?
Anyting is possible except for something positive.
May here is a good reason why he fights back so hard:
Aside from the fact that he always react with attack, lies, insults and silly nicknames for anybody that can be seen to contradict or disrespect him.
Yâall Never-Trumpers just makinâ fools of yerselves trying to keep up with POTUS45âs military brilliance. Heâs always one step ahead of you. Yâall playinâ checkers. Heâs playinâ 4D chess. In a hall of mirrors. Underwater. Against a clone of himself. On nitrous oxide. You ainât never goinâ to catch up with him. Thatâs how he wangled all those nuclear missiles from Rocketman Kim, lined 'em up in a wall against them Enchilada Eaters at our southern border and made the Chinese pay for it!
In about a quarter of an hourâs time Trumpâs press conference will start. I suppose that he will take full personal credit for the killing of al-Baghdadi. He will claim that he can do things nobody can. Amidst the impeachment worries this is kind of a gift for him that must be exploited to the full. But maybe he is in a modest self reflecting mood. We will wait and seeâŚ
Well I must say he was in a modest mood this time. Good for him.
Except to claim credit for more than he had any influence on and for being âbest in the world on Internetâ. (Limited to Twitter I presume)
As long as he read the text prepared for him by others off the teleprompter he did OK. What came after when he answered questions was more of his rambling self.
Maybe giving a way more than was needed and prising the Russians for not obstructing the mission, while barely recognising the contribution of the Syrian Kurds, who had been behind much of the detailed intelligence and involved with the planning for 5 months, not âa couple of weeksâ.
This does not mean the end of IS/ISIS since Abu Bakar Al Baghdadi was only an ideological front figure, not having any operational control over the various IS groups still operating after the fall of the Caliphate.
