Expired License - continuity

Hi All-

I have a 100 ton that I am not currently using and will not be using for the next couple years. I let it expire last October (10 months ago) and would like to put in continuity - do I have to renew first or can it go directly into continuity.
Thanks!

You can go to continuity without renewing, But you need to do that soon, before the administrative “grace period” during which you can renew an expired credential ends.

Thank you so much!

I am pretty confident you had to do that when it was still valid. The logic is when they ‘‘put you to pasture’’ they want to be assured you were ""ran when parked’'., bringing you back would thus be the easier route they allow for ‘continuity’.

It can be done anytime the license is eligible to be renewed, i.e. up to the end of the “administrative grace period.” See 46 CFR 10.227(g)(5).
He can do it now.

Thanks all - I think I am going to go ahead and submit for continuity with out renewing - will let you know what happens!
