Dove in 4chon?

Anyone know what the Dove is doing in fourchon? She looks really good!

The U.S. Missile Defense Agency’s funding request of $7.75 billion includes a major departure for the agency’s testing regime: shelving the massive Raytheon Sea-Based X-Band (SBX) radar.

MDA has long used the radar, which is mounted on a large, floating platform, for providing targeting and discrimination data during flight tests in the Pacific region.

Officials will now use the AN/TYP-2 radars, also made by Raytheon, to support this testing as well as future deployments there, one MDA official says. Additionally, the agency has Upgraded Early Warning Radars and the Cobra Dane system to aid in sensor support for testing. The early warning radar in Clear, Alaska, is being upgraded to a more advanced configuration with completion slated for 2016.

SBX funding, which was at $176.8 million in fiscal 2012, sharply decreases to a steady $9.7 million annually through fiscal 2017.

The White House in budget documents suggests that the SBX will be maintained in a “limited test support” role, saving “at least $500 million over five years while also retaining the ability to recall it to an active, operational status if and when it is needed.”

Stack the SBX, stack the Dove. Wonder if Gary is still being paid the remainder of the contract.

I can barely find the words to convey how sweet this news is for me to read. There have been thousands of stupid projects funded by the DoD over the decades but there have been none stupider that the SBX!

Thank God almighty that there are sane people in the White House and Pentagon who realized that the concept of this “thing” was ill conceived from the start and never ever would be able to do what it was intended for. You know that both Boeing and ECO must be getting a hansome buy out of their contracts but at least this abomination of a program is finally going where it should which is AWAY!

These phrases are alike, yet they are different… Can you tell me how they are both similar AND dis similar?

Damn… I thought I found my cushy retirement job!

So whats it doing in fourchon?

Gary likely got his contract bought out by the DoD and is going to put the vessel to work back in the GoM making even more $$$ for him. That man is a maritime genious bar none!

Don’t Seacor own half of the Dove ?

The political “campaign contributions” the Chouest family makes would make a Sahara camel into a maritime genius if the camel so desired.

Dove sighting in Seacor territory!

Both vessels in the pic are operated by Chouest.

It almost to the point where we will all be working for Gary no matter the boat color!!!

I did 6 years on that rig-dome-thing as AB, 3/M and 2/M. I would agree.

Those seacor “R” boats have always been Chouest. Built by Chouest for Rowan. Seacor now owns the hull but they are crewed and operated by Chouest.
