Do Mariners qualify for FirstNet cell service?

My ATT service has become absolutely horrible over the last two years. It used to be great but it’s pathetic now. Seems all cell service is getting bad. Verizon used to be great in my state but now it’s unusable.

However, a family member is military and qualifies for FirstNet through ATT and gets great service and full bars when I have one or none.

Do mariners qualify for FirstNet under the possible coastal search and rescue category? Has anyone on here who is none military been able to qualify for FirstNet?

I know Foss transitioned most their tugs to FirstNet, I think their justification was something about providing service during disaster recovery. I don’t know what the likelihood is as an individual, but it wouldn’t hurt to try. I’d just make sure your justification is more than “I could possibly have SAR responsibilities in a hypothetical scenario” in order to maximize your chances.
