I recently emigrated from Russia. And at the moment I live in Washington state Everett, my diploma and certificates are not valid in the usa but in the zone of Europe. And to first start all the way I need to get a green card and accordingly to pass all the training courses to obtain security certificates of the U.S. Coast Guard. And also step by step climb the ladder from private to mechanic and I am faced with a choice I unfortunately can’t spend as many years to get the same position but I can get in my time QMED but after the green card . Now I have a work permit and ssn .
A ship’s mechanic over the years acquires specialties that allow him to work ashore if his hands grow from the right place. He will always find a job in proportion to his knowledge. After weighing everything, I want to stay in my subject and do ship repair and construction in Shipyards, Washington State.
So I decided to ask for advice on how to proceed as after trying to register through job applications without recent experience in the USA I cannot register online as there is no data from my last job. How much demand is there for professionals in this field and who can I contact to get started even at the entry level .
Many thanks to everyone who responds

Off the top of my head apply for a shoreside engineering position with Washington state ferries. Also Kitsap county ferries.
