I first heard of cook jobs aboard ships 2 years ago. My friend was captain of a freight ship overseas and was telling me about the job. I am currently a culinary student, due to graduate in January. I’m 31 and have been working in kitchens professionally since I was 15 years old. I was hoping I could get more information on how to get my foot in the door. Obviously I would need a passport but what else would I need? What are some companies to get in touch with? Also, I currently live in Michigan and am interested in working on the Great Lakes, but would be open to working overseas. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
