Coffee in the CFR's

I think the entire conversation is hilarious. The amount of money people are willing to pay for a bean that grows on a tree is insane. Coffee snobs are worse than the crowd that spends hundreds for a bottle of fermented grapes. When I was growing up coffee was A&P, if you could afford it, Luzianne for poor folks and Maxwell House for the average person. The finest restaurants served Maxwell House, freshly ground. When Folgers came out it was the hottest thing on the market, the Starbucks of its day. Coffee was the drug that got you moving in the morning, no more, no less. A cup didn’t cost as much as a gallon of gasoline either. In retrospect I guess I should feel deprived, I didn’t have enough money to pay for coffee out of a litter box if it had been available. Silly me, I would have considered digested coffee …shit.
