Yesterday I happened upon a great resource for those who are preparing for a deployment in to the Gulf in response to Operation Deepwater Horizon. The file, titled Operation Deepwater Horizon Response Reserve Recall Orders SPO Procedures 3 June 2010, will no doubt be a useful resource for those who may be, or already are, deployed to the region.

The Coast Guard is active duty full time. The Coast Guard Reserve is active one weekend per month and two weeks per year active duty. Just like the Army reserve or Army National Guard.
