Good grief sailors. Getting a new privacy fence today, should I look over the top to see Chinese peeking over the top?. The Filipinos behind me with their rat bastard little mutts are more of a concern when their owners throw bones in my yard from their BBQ and cause suffering to my pups. Chinese do not worry me. They are much smarter.
I have a 6’ privacy fence also, here’s why:
The fence and flowers are my yard, the rest isn’t. The neighbor tried mowing for about 5 minutes and gave up.

I was looking up the relative strength of the Taiwanese and Chinese air forces. The Chinese AF is much bigger, of course. 4X the size. But the Taiwanese seem to be making the most of what they have.
And in reading all this I came to realize a fundamental difference I had missed between Hong Kong and Taiwan. Hong Kong was defenseless, and were already onboard with Chinese assimilation, although on their own terms. Whereas Taiwan (ROC, whatever you want to call it) has been preparing for a Chinese attack for 75 years. A whole different mindset.
They have trouble getting aircraft because China views this as a provocation. But apparently the same doesn’t hold true for missiles. So Taiwan has been stocking up on those, and hiding the missile batteries. In 1940, during the Battle of Britain, the Luftwaffe was 3x the size of the RAF, and the British still won. Maybe the Taiwanese are counting on fighting on their home turf, as well as missiles, as giving them a similar advantage over numbers. And the Chinese would still need to capture Taipei to capture the island, which means an amphibious assault, which is always hazardous.
But no matter which was you look at it, the only way Taiwan would win is with American intervention. Very interesting that NATO, an “Atlantic” organization, is openly talking about Taiwan nowadays.
Unfortunately I think the US would just preach diplomacy if there ever came a time where Taiwan was under attack. Too scared to upset trade with China, yet trying to save face for (I think) the majority of Americans that agree we should side with Taiwan should conflict arise. We have a history of appeasement with China. It’s quite unfortunate considering the opportunities we’ve had to enact some change in diplomatic relations and such.

Not looking down on anyone, I feel sorry for the locals i work with and my relatives as they are trapped in that 85% yet ignorance is bliss that dont know how it runs for the other 15%.
Your childish answer about if I think its so bad ( I have never said that) why do I live there…well DOH thats the part of Singapore that makes it a gift to foreigners thats why they continue to pour in ( that entered the country with money) and the 15% alike.
Hence wealthy locals never get involved in politics as there is no reason to.

They should get a pig or a sheep to mow all of it down.
Now, we are not being so polite to the neighbors, but I concur. The birds and bees come first.
Then he would have a neighbor with a dirt field or mud pit for a yard that smelled like pig or goat shit. I rather have them with the waist high grass that no one wants to walk through to peep through the privacy fence.

Only if the animals don’t get moved. You can rent a goat or a small flock of sheep these days if you have a large enough yard. The shepherds set them up with electric fence, the animals eat, and then they get moved to another property when they’re done. Meanwhile they leave you with food in the soil and that will starve out the weeds which thrive in nutrient-deficient soil.
I don’t have sheep but I live in an area where they use sheep to keep the grass down. Sometimes I wake up with the sound of the animals and absolutely seeing them from my balcony. No bad smell and funny enough, not many flies.
But the spiders are fat.

Sounds like the republican cult to me. Suppress voting while hiding campaign funding sources, deny women’s rights to choose their biological future, I could continue ad nausem about the similarities and goals.
