The book Tugboat - A Day in the Harbor is about three children who are invited to spend the day aboard a hardworking harbor tug named Pegasus.
The 34-page book is in paperback form. The children meet the captain, chief engineer, deckhands, and cook.
The kids learn about all the different parts of a tugboat. They learn a little bit about navigation when the captain shows them how to read a chart. They visit the engine room and see a diesel engine.
Pegasus helps dock a container ship. It responds to an oil spill from a sinking tanker.
The children get to see Pegasus push a barge up a long and winding river. Finally, the hardworking tug helps a cruise ship start its voyage to warmer waters.
