I popped over to the CG website and grabbed this off of a checklist:
Chief Engineer (OSV)
Option 1:
Service Requirements from valid DDE:
(Mariner holds valid endorsement as
DDE). He/she may have the MMC endorsed for service as Chief Engineer of
OSVs of not more than 3,000 GT within any current HP limitations (1,000,
4,000 or Unlimited HP) (No additional training, assessment, or exams
required).
If I understood the checklist correctly, I pretty much apply for this, pay a couple bucks and rock and roll with a C/E of OSV 3,000 GT, unlimited HP…
