Cargo ship carrying 1,400 luxury cars was DELIBERATELY grounded off Isle of Wight to stop it from capsizing, says owner
The Hoegh Osaka left Southampton at 8.21pm on Saturday night en-route to Bremerhaven but ran aground
All 25 crew members were rescued overnight by a coastguard helicopter and multiple RNLI lifeboats
It is understood one of the 25 crew may have sustained a broken leg during the incident off the Isle of Wight
Early attempts to ‘re-float’ the ship have failed after it was grounded listing at a 45-degree angle
Vessel’s owners say the ship was deliberately grounded after it started listing to stop it from capsizing

They added that it is too early to say what exactly caused the ship to start listing when it left Southampton
The ship was carrying 1,400 vehicles, some of which are thought to include Rolls Royces and Bentleys
Car manufacturers are checking to see if any of their vehicles were on board the ship when it ran into difficulties
