I’m trying to authorize a Power of Attorney back home. I was wondering if A CAPT could act as a Notary? Any advice or suggestions? I’m unable to get off the ship and do a port call to visit an Embassy.

Good luck. I remember trying this nearly 20 years ago without any luck. We were fortunate the old man contacted agent in next port who happened to be a Notary so he brought his stamp down to the ship. Good Captain, he took care of his regular crew.
I’m pretty sure a lot of agents are, that might be your best bet.
