Does anyone on here know if you need to have bst renewed if you have a mate of tow inland was good for my original, but if you’re doing drills while at work and it’s worded on the Seatime letter do you need to renew bst/firefighting?

Is an STCW refresher or revalidation for BT/Firefighting required?
No renewal required for national endorsements (license). “Revalidation” or “refresher” training is required for renewal of most STCW endorsements, along with the rest of STCW basic training and other stuff (e.g. advanced firefighting, and proficiency in survival craft)
So would basic fire fighting be required for the renewal? Or I don’t need to do any of that since it’s a national endorsement.
We can’t be any more specific if you don’t tell us what endorsements you are asking about. And that notwithstanding you should be able to figure it out from the responses above.
I carry a mate of towing inland, national endorsement when I renew my mate of tow,all I have is is a BST endorsement for STCW when I renew my license. Will I need to take a refresher BST training or a basic fire fighting course before that renewal or since I’ve already taken it once and participate in shipboard drills will that be enough?
You don’t need to take a firefighting course to renew for the national license as mate of towing vessels.
If you want to keep the STCW basic training endorsement, you will need courses, sea service with shipboard drills alone is not enough. The courses are for all of basic training, not just firefighting. If you have at least one year of service in the past five years, you can take a shorter REVALIDATION course. This will cover things that cannot safely be done in drills, e.g. putting out real fires or jumping into the water, righting an inverted raft, etc.
If you don’thave the one year in the last five, you need a REFRESHER course that covers all of basic training.
You can letthe STCW endorsement lapse and keep/renew the mate towing license wityhout taking a course. If you want to do that, make sure to tell NMC that on your application, otherwise they will assume you want to renew all of your endorsements and will hold your application until you get the courses for STCW.
