Now hold on, I read that the amendment did not make it because McConnell called off all debate on amendments last week because there was too much quibbling going on so the McCain amendment died in committee. If this is true then it is a GOOD thing, if the bill does pass then McCain won’t have any more opportunities to try to get his amendment attached.

But, sadly, the GOP did not allow the Dem amendments that would have required the oil to stay in the United States and the pipeline to be constructed of American-made steel. So much for jobs.

ain’t it just lovely to see our jobs being sold down the river like this? Why not just import Chinese labor to build the pipeline along with the Chinese steel! At least in the late 1860’s it was American steel used for the rails in the first transcontinental railroad. FUCK OUR CONGRESS!
