Someone wrote in here a month ago about mcain’s efforts to repeal the Jones Act. I wrote both my Oregon Senators and asked each why they ‘’‘were not standing in line to smack this guy down’’.
(yes I did), I got some BS from my Repulocrat but Merkley actually replied with some detail (not enough to tell if it was a form letter, maybe modified)), but he said it had to do with the 4th amendment to the keystone xl pipeline…(which I googled).
WTF Mcain wants to go this route is so far beyond me I can’t fathom it. It’s just anti American, all the way. … and Al Franken is caught up In this, (maybe on the good side?) something about Steel used in ships, but I have to get aboard early so you’ll have to fill in this gap…who ever started that about Mcain…Thanks!

Franken had the temerity to suggest that if the pipeline is built, it should use American made steel. Franken believed that rather than import foreign steel that would be carried on foreign ships to build the pipeline he thought maybe what was left of one of America’s fundamental industries should get a little support.
As far as Traitor Mac is concerned … McCain knew the pipeline bill would pass. He just saw it as a vehicle to carry his anti-American campaign to sell off what little remains of the American merchant marine and the billions of dollars it provides American working families in order to collect a few more campaign dollars while he still can and to pay back his handlers. We all know what McCain is, the only thing good about him is his age … fortunately he can’t last much longer and hopefully as his mental condition continues to decline, the damage he can do will diminish as well.
Follow the money, look at who supports the thing, look at who gets the cash. Then look at who has to pay for the damage it will cause. The Koch brothers are major owners of the tar that will move through the pipeline and they are probably the biggest Congressional shareholders. If they support something you know it is bad for America and everyone who doesn’t get a check for cooperating. Look at their record of handling petroleum products in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner.

You managed to get almost all of the DNC/MSNBC talking points in there, but missed a chance at bashing Fox News and the TEA Party.
Funny, I hear howls of protest about how politics shouldn’t be discussed here unless it is to bash conservatives. Criticize that incompetent, corrupt and America hating fraud in White House and look at you cry babies howl.
Now, run along and collect your nickel from Media Matters and daddy soros.
What’s wrong? Can’t find any factual errors to correct or debate or just got a mouth full of KoolAid?
Not all of us depend on television “news” or infotainment opinion programs, political parties, or lobbyists to develop our own thoughts on current events. Sorry to disappoint you but I have absolutely nothing to do with any of the people or organizations you and your peers appear to rely on and would prefer to see them closed down as they are a major source of the type of disinformation that allows people like McCain and the Koch brothers to thrive.
As a matter of fact I despise them because, as your comment shows so clearly, they only breed ignorance.
Nothing wrong at all. I have no interest in a “debate” concerning your worn out, weak talking points and what you consider "facts"
Of course, in typical left wing fashion, any opinion or news that does not parallel your fucked up ideology must be shut down. Free speech sucks, doesn’t it?
Yeah, yeah. We get it. No one could possibly be as enlightened as you.
not gonna say nothing here…
gonna just watch and laugh…
you git em steamer!

let me just ask you two very basic and easy to answer questions here:
one: you favor John McCain wanting to strip the US build requirement from the Jones Act?
and
two: you do believe that Chinese made pipe should be used to build a pipeline owned by a Canadian corporation to cross US soil?
.
While the Koch brothers (as dispicable as they are) are deeply involved in keystone on one side, so is Warren Buffet on the other. If anybody thinks he is good for America, they have obviously overlooked his large stake in Moody’s (among other impropriety). The same rating agency that rated subprime garbage AAA back in 2008. If keystone is shot down Buffet profits by owning Burlington Northern Railroad. Money permeates government at all levels. Pelosi made money on Visa during Dodd Frank, and Boehner made money on health care. Investigate the Carlyle Group, then the Clinton Global Initiative. Hell, Obama himself signed the exemption for congress to insider trade. There is not much difference in sides these days.
More in line with the general idea of this thread, American jobs, it should be noted that the darling of the Dems, Buffet, bought Fruit of the Loom and promptly closed all the American factories, moving those jobs to Central America.

It’s not nice to slap the handicapped around so I will just let his own words make my point for me. He has done well so far, besides, he and his ilk don’t present much of a challenge anyway.

You got that right! The smell is coming from all directions. I wish we had a way to flush the Wall Street and K Street toilets but until we start putting politicians and the people who own them in prison cells I don’t see much hope.

Increasingly these days they own the prisons too, so that won’t do much good…

More condescension and the smarter than thou attitude from a brave internet warrior. LoL! No surprise there, left wing scum like you are known for it. It’s what makes them so special.
Reading yours and “captain” huff-n-bluster’s posts reminds me of the old saying, “the more you stir a turd, the worse it stinks”. You have been stirred enough.
Anything else? Now, get back to your regularly scheduled whining of those evil republicans, Fox News, Koch Brothers or whatever else you cry about.
I will continue to laugh at you.

when you calm down and get hold of your wits, care to answer my two questions?
It is amazing to me that one can’t be critical of Fox News and/or the Koch brothers and not be seen as bashing all Retardicans.
One also can’t be critical of MSNBC and/or George Soros and not be seen as bashing all Dummycrats.
McCain and his insane mission to destroy the U.S. merchant marine need to be criticized without caring about offending someone’s politics.
What if I don’t? Are you going to demand I answer them? Going to order me to answer them?
LoL!
Fuck off.

not at all little man, but you are making yourself look like the fool you are for not which is fine by me
not labeling anyone in particular but just thought I would post this for simply the hell of it…

Precisely and that is the problem. The people that run the country want to keep us at each others throats ! When we go to work on ships we are neither Democrat, Republican or Independent we are just the last small group of workers making a solid middle class living for our families. If we listen to the BS and let them divide us, the fat cats that run the country and only care about making themselves richer will win. There is an old saying, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” All of us in the maritime industry need to realize McCain and the people that pay him bribes to screw US are our enemy no matter our political leanings. Time to band together and kick some ass. Those with a left foot can kick with that foot those with a right foot can kick with that and the independents can kick with both feet but we gotta kick some ass or end up like the rest of the wage earners in the USA, scratching and digging for crumbs from Walmart and corporations like them. I for one will not vote for the reelection of any of my representatives if they vote with McCain and I told them so. I am a single issue voter. I told them you can promise to cut taxes, save democracy or any other BS you can dream up but I will NOT forget if you join McCain in turning the once proud US Maritime industry and worker into a relic of the past and outsourcing our industry like you and your kind did every other industry that USED to exist in the USA. I’d vote for a member of ISIS before I’d vote to reelect someone that destroyed our way of making a living and our children’s chance at making the same living in a proud profession.
