How do you define “Best country”? Is it the riches country overall, or the richest per capita?
Or could it be the country with the happiest population?:
Maybe other criteria count more for you?

If city living is for you, here are the most expensive cities to live in:
I lived in Finland for years. Rated many times as the #1 happiest country in the world.
It’s a great country compared to where I come from (the U.S.), but happy? People seem depressed, and complain all the time, although they don’t have anything we would consider “social problems” back in the States.
Other countries I lived in, which seemed “happier” – Denmark, Latvia, Russia. I also lived in Estonia – better than Finland, but also kind of depressive in some odd way. I also lived for some years in Germany. Of all those I guess for me the best country to live in was Denmark. Most interesting? Russia.
A few years ago my family flew into JFK after a couple weeks in southern France & Italy. Our car was in extended parking & we had to take the train/subway to get to it. Our train had our family of 5 & 5 or 6 African American airport workers. That group of off-watch co-workers were a roit. They were laughing, joking, horse playing with each other & even playing music on their phones. A lovely short train ride for us & watching those people enjoying themselves publicly was a nice welcome back to the US of A. On the long drive back home my wife discussed how happy & expressive Americans can be compared to the people we seen in Europe. Last month we were Northern Italy, Switzerland & Germany and it was the same as always. If those people are extremely happy or are more happy than those in the rest of the world they hide it very well. Go to an outdoor square in a large city in Mexico, the USA, Brasil, the Philippines, Chile, Paraguay, Nigeria etc. & you will see, hear & feel the outgoingness & happiness of the people in those places. Our recent trip to Zurich was enjoyable but those extremely educated, wealthy people were stoic. Not what I consider happy. I don’t believe the white people, rich, educated European polls about national happiness. As for Mexico, from my experiences from living there, working there & countless visits afterwards. Those people are out of there heads happy as long as they are in the company of their family members. It doesn’t matter how hot it is, how bad it smells or how poor they might be, as long as they are together watching a TV Novela or sitting up to 2 in the morning telling each other the same stories they told a hundred times those people are the happiest in the world. Not the boring expressionless rich white people of Northern Europe imo.
It is interesting to note from news and social media feeds how the fabric of Europe and the United Kingdom appears to be changing with very high immigration levels.
