NMC had my application for less than a week, then I see this status. Wow, they move fast!
I don’t yet know how much of my Navy time they have credited. I had tried twice to get a Transcript of Sea service letter from the Navy, but no joy yet. So I checked out old threads here, and saw that many people used evals, and things like the Enlisted Summary record, page 2s, school certificates, and even the SMART transcript (breaks down Navy schools into ACE recommendations). I sent in about 40 pages of supplemental information with my application. I had been to CMEO as a port engineer and I sent that in, too, what the heck. I sent in DD-214s also, although I can see why the Coast Guard doesn’t like them as proof positive of sea service. They don’t provide enough specifics and in my case, contain errors (that I will try to have fixed). My final one shorts me a year of sea time.
Glad I had copies of those…cuz I am not the most organized person in the world. You should see me at tax time.
I also have just been approved to test for Master 500 NC. First I had to send a replacement certificate for Advanced Fire Fighting that disappeared from my file. Last time I sent in an application I was told they could only verify 300 seadays and I sent copies of all my seatime letters. And holding a license since 1994 was no proof of sea time. Do we have files at the NMC or do they just carry around lose stacks of paper?

I don’t even know how much of my time they granted. I sent in about 4 years 10 months. Guess I can ask when I go up to test.
As far as their record-keeping goes, I suspect it may be a black hole just like the Navy’s personnel offices. A giant shitcan if you will. Keep copies of everything…
And thanks guys for the kind replies, I can always use luck
