Hi,
I don;t know if this is the right place to ask but I figure most people check out the employment threads. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here has worked for Caldive recently. Wondering how it is to work there, how do they treat thier crews? Do they have work for thier boats? Do they keep thier crews working if the boat is not or do they send everyone home with no pay???
Also would appreciate any info on SeaDrill. Any marine crew working there? DPOs or mates??? Wondering what its like day to day working on one of thier rigs.
Last question: has anyone worked for any British companies? I am considering taking a job but I am concerned a little bit about how different they might run things on a British vessel. Does anyone have any experience with that? I have worked on a German ship and with foreigners on US vessels but wondering more about how they would run things coming from the office to the ship. What kinds of things would they expect of a ships officer that would be different than here? I know the Europeans think our license system is not up to snuff and wondering if I would have a hell of a time learning their systems and how they do things, or if it would be pretty easy to pick up.
Any comments on any of this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
