It only cost abt. USD 45 Mill. to repair her. (Maybe that can be done cheaper in the Philippines?)

Two former Alaska Marine Highway high speed ferries has been sold to Spain:
"We've all been waiting -- I think the whole town's been waiting to see this process for a few months. But it’s sad to see the ferries leave," one onlooker said.

Loaded onto HLV Red Zed 1 after waiting off Ketchikan since April. (I don’t know who pay the demurrage bill)
It’s taken on water to allow the ferries to be pulled aboard and secured by divers. Later, the vessel will pump water out of its ballast tanks, bringing its deck — and the Chenega and Fairweather — back above the surface.
Almost correct, but the securing is done after the deck is dry. Positioning is done by guide posts, so divers is not needed.
