I have submitted my package to the USCG for my upgrade from 200 ton master to 500 ton master with near coastal rating.
Bought the Mariner Advancement solution that comes on a thumb drive. Any body else have used this? What I am wondering is if I should print some of the resources out? like maybe the light list and bowditch? Anything else?

I haven’t used the program you are describing but lots of practice problems, from whatever source, is a good strategy. You can also get a sense of what is on the exams from sample exam page: https://www.dco.uscg.mil/nmc/exams/oceans_or_near_coastal_endorsements/

Do you have a master of tow? Is so you will only have to take 3 modules instead of 7.
If you get the 500 ton master that way (3 tests instead of 7) is it then just a simple sea time upgrade (i.e. no further testing) to step up to the 1600?
