Has anybody noticed the change in the wording on their MMC for a 1600GRT Master’s License (Oceans)??
For over 20 years I’ve been licensed as Master for power driven vessels of “NOT MORE” than 1600 GT.
My renewed document specifies master of power driven vessels “LESS THAN” 1600 GRT.
While this is only a shift of ONE GRT, it has disqualified me from consideration for a recent job vacancy because the job posting clearly states a minimum requirement of a Master’s license of “AT LEAST” 1600 GRT.
Anybody have any info/comment on this?
