Because Maritime is a state school you aren’t going to find many institutional scholarships, if you live in NY state you are already getting a pretty good deal for your 3/M unlimited ticket. The CAP scholarship is a great program and I suggest you apply for it. You will need a nomination from a State Senator, good grades/SAT, and fill out a couple of questions. Besides that the school does offer a limited amount of grants for incoming freshmen but nothing significant.
You can also try to find private scholarships but again they are few and far between and probably won’t pay for very much.
If you are an NY resident I suggest you fill out a FAFSA and apply for NYS TAP grants, they can take a sizeable portion out of your tuition.
