What's the last job you'd take at sea?

I told a friend recently that I wanted to quit tankers and find the smallest boat to captain at a Caribbean resort. He said that’s the lats job he’d ever sign up for and sent me this picture with the quote “Would be fun until some guest pissed me off and I got fired for doing this”

So what’s the last shipping job you’d ever take?

any position with Sea Shepard Society unless it was in deep cover to capture Paul Watson and bring his PHAT PHUCKING PHUGITIVE ASS to justice!

I wonder if the Yakuza has a bounty on his fat head?

Anything involving passengers. . . . .Unless, well, you know. . . .

Sailing under c.captain.

Sorry, someone was bound to say it so I thought why not me.

If I had to pick I guess it would be on anything where you have to deal with passengers.

If you were to ask nicely, Kirby might offer you a nice “Easy” Job on the old Sea Skimmer.

Any engineering job on a Carnival cruise ship especially one involving electricity or MSD units.

Yeah, don’t think that there is one on there,. . . . but that damn thing followed me all the way to Galveston Bay during my ABS days. . . … I still have SEA SKIMMER “dreams”; and it’s been what, 25 years. . . .

Any one that would require me to clean a grease trap…

A job with MSC.

Well they just cut our OT here at NOAA so it’s frowny time here in fish boat land…

What he said.

Mike Rowe said this was one of the worst:

Backed fully. Awful awful awful.

You beat me to it…
A job with MSC.
Close but I’d rather sail for MSC than for the US Navy.

Agreed. In fact that’s what makes MSC a pisser to work for at times.

Oh, I have already done that. Not a scotch boiler, but the superheaters on the Lykes Gulf Pride and Pacer class ships did not have sootblowers in the superheaters. Once each voyage, they had to be opened up and the tubes scraped clean by hand. We did one in Hong Kong and the other up a river in Borneo. Lovely work in the tropical summer. . . .

Let’s just saw I was known to be a prick to work for. The always complained about me having the nerve to want them to actually work.

Oh Jeez … reading that reminds me of watching a wiper spill one all over himself on an APL C-8. I still get queazy just thinking about it. The details are a permanent visual and olfactory trauma.

F me. I would rather swim in an MSD then clean those.
