Thanks, but I’ll wait for KC to provide the evidence to back up his statement. Making a statement and telling someone who asks for evidence to go search for it themselves gives that statement as much weight as a fart in a hurricane.
The entire idea of cancelling an election is silly and BS to get a few more ratings for TV and it’s click bait for the internet owners to get more money . There have been pandemics, civil war and world wars but elections go on. Of course I’m one of the minority that hopes Trump is reelected along with the current members of congress. Maybe after 4 more years people will do away with the 2 party system.
Consider the author of that article - a rabid Trump supporter. Let’s see what a few other legal gurus have to say along with other government sources.
"However, she would be out of the office on Jan. 3 if federal elections were delayed. Next in line would be the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, which is currently Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA).
It’s worth noting that this process could change since only 65 senators would remain in the Senate on Jan. 3, 2021 if the federal elections are delayed. Since a majority of the remaining senators would be Democrats, they could select a new President Pro Tempore of the Senate. Governors could also replace these vacant seats, with appointed senators.
Our experts emphasize that delaying an election would be unprecedented, so it’s unclear exactly how the transition of power would work. It’s possible that states could hold elections of their own, under continuity powers.
But under the traditional succession rules, Rep. Pelosi would not be available, since she would be out of power if federal elections would be delayed."

What is “Facts” and what is not appears to be dependent on you political view.
And remember, I’m not American and don’t have English (in any of it’s many forms) as my First Language, so how should I know that what I read in reputable American media is not “facts”?
From the sound of it you & I are talking about the same type of people. They’re “conservatives” who lived liberal lives in their liberal paradises that they return to because of the weather. Condo in Florida??? Those types people aren’t fooling anyone. I don’t know any true redneck, leave-me-the-f*ck-alone-conservative who would voluntarily live in a condo or subdivision with a HOA. Those carpetbaggers are wolves in sheeps clothing that would write a letter to the editor harping on their conservative values to raise taxes, put in a stop sign, increase public transportation or hire more police at a drop of a hat. Screw those people. My suggestion, don’t live in a condo, especially in Florida.
Florida has way more than its share of carpetbaggers, flim flam men and quick buck artists, especially in the real estate market. They go into a frenzy when the snowbirds descend with loads of yankee dollars.
I only lasted a year while waiting for divorce settlement. Left the condo and stayed with a friend in one of those 55 plus communities for a bit, not much better but less BS. Big outbreak of HIV 55+ in those communities which is still going on. Cops got called because some 70 something was having sex with another 70 something on an AC unit outside the community center, took me while to get that imagined picture out of my head. Viagra was their defense. Since then I happily split my time between two states and another country or two.
Just to keep things real:
I live in a middle class section of Seattle. About as liberal a place as you can find. I’ve lived here 50 years. I’ve never had my houses broken into. I’ve never been mugged or otherwise assaulted. I had a car stolen once twenty years go (hint: don’t leave your keys in the ignition and the door unlocked near a busy intersection.) Got it back in three days.
I’ve never seen a riot with my own eyes in this city, though they have of course happened, and will happen again. I’ve seen no evidence of rioting, because the damage is confined to what is a very small part of the city, easy to miss if you don’t go down there.
It is not a perfect place, especially since the Pandemic began. The biggest problem now, as has been since the 1980s, is homelessness. And the reason for homlessness is the steady, incessant flood of people moving to Seattle, driving up housing costs
The torrent of well-paid people flooding into this liberal hellhole, gentrifying and eliminating all slums, all trailer courts, dumping the detritus of human society into the streets.
Many people pray for an outflux of people from this liberal hellhole, so that housing prices will drop, and they can find a house for less than $700k. But no. More keep flooding into this nightmare of a police state, which, oddly enough, has fewer police officers per capita than it once did.
Please, please bring on the max exodus from the liberal hell-holes filled with diseases and trash. Send back everyone from Kansas and Minnesota and Colorado, and all the other paradises who come here to make their millions with Amazon, Google, and Microsoft, jamming traffic with their SUVs and Maseratis. Feel sorry for us suffering here under the tyranny of the building cranes. Weep for poor, benighted us, suffering for lack of income tax.
This is from a few days ago but from a local in Portland.
There are at least three more emails ( #1-#3) from readers with different points of view but more or less along the same lines.
Me no understand. What are you swinging at who’s “soft balls”???
From an outsider looking in it would seem that military style policing for an entire police force is a bad idea. In today’s reality there is a need for an elite section trained to a very high level with a though psychological screening included in their selection.
The ordinary police officer who is part of the community has many advantages in defusing confrontations.
I would be prepared to bet that a majority of males over the age of 70 could name the name of the local policeman when they were young. Step out of line and your old man would know about it.
There is no shortage of gun owners in New Zealand but our police are only armed on specific occasions.
The point was two separate paths exist for news/videos. One is MSM created and broadcast news. Second is amateur created video on smartphones and distributed on social media.
The example of the original video doesn’t really fit so it should have not been included
Young people don’t get news on TV.
Likely both liberal and conservative city governments would converge on similar polices wrt policing because the constraints are not touchy-feely out of touch liberal vs law and order but the cost to government of lawsuits.
In response to Maywood’s climbing liability costs, the city’s insurer gave the department a 20-step “Performance Improvement Plan.” Maywood didn’t meet the insurer’s requirements to improve officer training and incident reporting, according to court documents. The city lost coverage and disbanded its police department. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is now responsible for patrolling Maywood’s streets.
Which makes one wonder why US police are heavily armed all the time. In actual fact in the USA being a police officer is not as hazardous an occupation as being a construction worker, farmer, power line worker, roofer and many other occupations with fishermen and loggers topping the list.
I understand that video released by MSM is edited for effect and homemade ones are raw and I’m also aware that the younger crowd gets their news on social media. Neither product can be taken at face value.
I’m not surprised. I also looked for YouTube videos depicting police attacking peaceful protestors. There are videos depicting protestors who appear peaceful being manhandled by police.
SOP for police to clear streets is to warn people to clear the area. If they refuse to move, the police are not going to walk away, they are going to go on the offensive. Every video I’ve seen depicts the action when the confrontation begins.
Because the warning wasn’t recorded doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Refusing to follow police directives because you don’t agree with them whether in a traffic stop or a demonstration rarely ends well.
It’s a fact easily understood without the benefit of superior intellect.
Doesn’t fit because it was amateur created on a phone but used by MSM, so not in either category.
Once I was on the bridge on a research vessel & one of the scientists looked up from his laptop & said, “Okay, we are right above the spot, stop the boat!”. I wanted to break into a laugh but restrained myself because I didn’t want to make him feel bad. The captain or mate gave him a quick run down & politely explained that ships didn’t have brakes on them & it was impossible for a vessel to stop in such a manner while making way. They guy didn’t have a clue about mariners & our profession.
I’m not a cop & never had a desire to be one either. I rather be unemployed & poor than a cop. But I know a few LEO’s & have family members who do citizen ride alongs. I worked with more than a few guys who were reserve officers in their communities in their offtime. From my experiences with them, the LEO’s who stay in fighting shape, wear the bullet proof vests & keep their weapons in excellent working condition do so because they fear for their lives because of the areas they work in. Hogsnort, yourself, me & other people who visit this forum will never fight a cop or attack a cop. We don’t live in communities where those kind of things happens either. Unfortunately some police in the US patrol areas that are just as dangerous as any favalla or shantytown in Rio or Mexico City. Its incredibly naive to ask why police have to be so heavily armed & protected in some places in the US. The county deputies where I live are older, overweight & usually aren’t wearing body armor. The city police near me who work in the bad part of town are usually young, fit, heavily protected & armed like they are going into combat because on many evenings that’s what they do.
If it unequivocally depicts innocent civilians being assaulted by police with no warning and no provocation, I personally don’t give a rat’s ass whether it was shot by a protestor or MSM. It needs to be aired. And then maybe we can put this to bed.
