What companies have large OSVs?

I am curious as to what companies have large OSVs that utilize the OSV-6000 license.

Chouest, Hornbeck, Gulfmark, and? Any others? What about Tidewater?

Seacor
Otto Candies
GOL is building some 5000 ton boats

Thats pretty much it.

So is that a no on Tidewater?

Chouest, The 2 new Aries boats are large OSVs and Harvey Gulf will e building 8 of them.

and, then there is the 10,000 ton OSV license that will be available next year to companies with the approved program.

(ie striking the wording from the CFRs / USC). Or did they just raise the maximum size to 10K

The wording is struck from the CFR (whenever it is updated and codified based on HR3619) , but the 6,000 ton license will remain. A requirement of the 10,000 ton is 1-year sea-time under the 6,000 ton license. The 6,000 ton endorsement isn’t going anywhere. Just a new license with more requirements created. There is no longer a regulatory limit to the size of an OSV, but as far as manning, and current designs, there is no need to extend past 10,000 tons - for licensing. There is no basis and all parties seem to have settled at this number for several reasons, last I heard. There is a long way to go as far as developing the final result of a new license. At the end of the day, there will be more requirements of OSV’s than a regular merchant ship.

Seacor does NOT have a large osv program.
Chouest,Tidewater, Hornbeck, and Otto Candies definitely do.

I be torment with upon the most website in behalf of online ads. I recall is grim at this anunturi online the whole shooting match to understand what is present on there because it’s in a odd speech but I converse throughout this a distinct of the best.
Also, the search module that they attired in b be committed to is definitely awesome. Anunturi Auto
I’m pensive scarcely what above does it cover and if is someone here who can replicate something like that ?
Anyway, it was meticulous talking with you all and I ornamented I didn’t poke one’s nose in with anything.

Looking on GulfMark’s website it appears that they do not have any Large OSVs in the Gulf of Mexico, is that just because of the state of drilling in the Gulf now or did they never have a Large OSV program?

I think they never had one. Their bigger boats are the ones they got when they acquired Rigdom Marine (not sure if I spelled that right).

It was Rigdon.

Yea the bigger boats are all 1600 ton boats.

Aries came out with a large OSV a few months ago and Harvey Gulf is starting a large OSV program pending CG approval

Hornbeck has a large osv program? Interesting…

GulfMark is building 2 PSVs that will require a 6000ITC license. When I asked if they had an assessment program, the HR rep said no. Does that mean they will most likely have to apply for a USCG approved program? How else would they fill the billets unless they pulled people from other companies or had some GulfMark employees with the endorsement already. Would seem to make more sense to have an in house program. Wonder how long the approval process is to start an assessment program like that.

Months and it requires they have people that have some experience sailing on large vessels. We have had the 6000 program for deck licenses for years. When we submitted for the engineer program approval couple years ago things had changed. They had to write up a biography with the proposed assessors experience level, time in industry as well as time sailed on large OSV’s. Plus the sea time requirements were tweaked a little and were different for engineers. Maybe they plan on poaching people or they already have them in place. They can also submit to have one of their existing vessel even if its under 3000 as a training vessel. A long as they have the proper assessors onboard that will work until they get the vessel over 3000.

Aries two Tigersharks are, as previously mentioned, “large” OSV’s and I believe the two 270’s being built by Leevac will also be over 3000ITC.
