Well, this is what they voted for

Anticipated reaction confirmed;

However interesting to note that absolutely nothing I stated was or can be disputed. The only response as expected
was a broad brush smear attack using Trump as a verb. Funny and sad.

Eugene Debs pretty much nailed the answer to that question.

“In every age it has been the tyrant, the oppressor and the exploiter who has wrapped himself in the cloak of patriotism, or religion, or both to deceive and overawe the People.”

Mark Twain described the phenomenon in his pointed and sadly humorous “A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurs’ Court.”

That’s the whole strategy… chronically underfund government, make government bad, complain about incompetent government, privatize government, turn your buddies into billionaires.

Sand pebble - the election is over. Trump won. There is no longer a meaningful purpose in pointing out things MAGA believes the prior administration did wrong, none.

In a little over a month Trump will be sworn in, what I would like MAGA media to be talking about is what specific programs, policies, bills the second Trump administration plans on implementing to lower the absolute cost of living, control the border, funding for Ukraine, membership in NATo, specific tariff targets, specific spending cuts.

If that kind of stuff is out there- I missed it

The delusional rambling was so insane there’s no point in disputing anything. You clearly don’t care about facts or reality.

Believe President Trump facilitated the ability for vets to access privae healthcare during his first term as well as firing over 2K non-performing employees. If I understand correctly the Biden administration rehired them back.

I understand, we have not been invaded, inflated, degraded, indoctrinated, blocaded or subjugated. Got it, my apologies.

Yes taxes must be tripled especially for the public school system recieving greater funding per student than any industrialized nation. Roger. No the military is no exception. Ever see the Navy cargo handlers at work? A productive day is 5 moves/ hr versus commercial 16-24-30+ /hr.

Trump said he passed a private-sector health care program, Veterans Choice, after failed attempts by past presidents for the last “45 years.” That’s not true. The Choice program, which allows veterans to see doctors outside the government-run VA system at taxpayer expense, was first passed in 2014 under President Barack Obama.

You did a better job at describing this in your comment #14. Obama first signed it in '14 but only as a temporary measure. Trump cemented it in '17 with no expirations dates, two links from the VA below. The first one is a notification of signature, the second one gives details of what it consists of, over 40 miles from VA facility, wait times at VA’s & whatnot. The 10th thing to know talks about eliminating the expiration date.

But the 3rd link is my favorite. It’s an exclusive puff piece for Trump from a tabloid pretending to be a newspaper concerning his recent trip with world leaders in Paris. For him, it was a trip of peace for Ukraine, Marcon, Prince William & even Jill Biden. He calls her a, “a very nice lady”? Does Trump have a narcissistic, used car salesman personality? Most definitely. But if he can keep the VA hospitals from being filled with a slew of new crippled US service members & PTSD sufferers I say, hell yes. I didn’t vote for him but he ran on the platform of peace & deescalation which isn’t that damn bad. What can be better for the VA than peace & healthy US service members? Fingers crossed for him to get a cease fire in Ukraine & Hamas to let the hostages & corpes released in Gaza. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

Really- I thought all Trump did was change the distance from 40 miles to 30 miles, and the wait time down to like 20 days.

From the VA news link provided, item number 10.

“Public Law 115-26, enacted April 19, 2017, made three key changes to help improve the VCP. The law removed the expiration date for the program, made VA primary coordinator of benefits for services provided to you, and it removed barriers with sharing necessary health information with community providers.”

Of course the Trump administration was in charge of the VA at the time so maybe they made it up? It’s possible, I was just taking the VA’s word for it. You tell me…

thanks - no worries -

The term “MAGA” get used far too often. Not everyone who voted for Trump can be considered MAGA. Many of us just did not like the policies of the Democrat party. People had no choice, either vote for Trump or vote for Biden. Or “vote against” Trump or “vote against Harris”. Just because someone voted for Harris does not make them “pro-LGBT$&*, pro-abortion, pro-transitioning children”. That’s all I got to say about that.

had some time - did some digging - what i found was the Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act of 2014 had a 3 year timeframe since it was designed as a temporary solution - to give the VA time to improve their capacity to address the long waits, and access. It was funded with $10 b i believe. The bill in 2017 - eliminated the sunset date and allowed the bill to keep going until the 10 B funding ran out which had $5B left.

I think 2017 bill expired in 2019 when the VA established the Veterans Community Care Program.

I responded to a portion of your post disputing your “treason” aspect of it. I never mentioned Trump. Where is the response to my post? Funny. And sad.

An interesting read can be found here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2022/05/06/pages-their-newspapers-they-downplayed-hitlers-threat/

The articles are eerily familiar.

“It would be comforting to think that such irresponsible journalism is a historical relic. But the parallels with today’s right-wing media, on both sides of the Atlantic, are unavoidable: displaying apathy or sympathy toward brutal dictators (see Putin, Vladimir), deriding efforts to address legitimate threats (see pandemic, coronavirus) as schemes by liberal elites to control the population. The Hitler-enabling press lords, Olmsted writes, understood “how to sell suspicion and hatred to a mass audience.” Their successors apply the same techniques.”

Yes history repeats itself. Hitler aligned himself with the oligarchs of the day. Siemens, Krupp, Porsche etc. Even had Hugo Boss design the uniforms. Now we have the internet billionaires showing up in appointments. Call me simple but I don’t trust anyone that hasn’t shopped for their own groceries, lived without a chauffeur for the last 20 years, flies in their own jet and currently has their own personal chefs to watch out for my best interest.
The news media like politician has always been for sale. For the news it is ad dollars that makes them rich and for the politicians it is ‘campaign contributions’ which most folks recognize as bribery.

As before - DJT won the election, this was our choice. I will maintain some cautious optimism that our systems and processes of government can survive any outrageous attempts at non constitutional changes. Until then - I will watch to see if he is able to lower prices, close the boarder, deport all the illegal aliens, lower crime, impose tariffs that others pay for, grow the economy, keep unemployment low, and maintain our commitments around the world.

These are the promises made, lets see how well his supporters hold him to them.
