Waypoint for Windows Advice

Can Waypoint for Windows be downloaded on a new laptop with Windows 10? Please advise.

Should download on about any device, it downloads as a zip file.

Running it is another matter. The last version of Windows it runs on without some kind of workaround is XP.

Here’s what the web site says:

          • WINDOWS 7 USERS PLEASE READ! * * * * *

Waypoint for Windows v3.01(a) is NOT compatible with the latest 64-bit Windows 7 operating system. It is a 16-bit software program which only run on 32-bit systems.

Microsoft does provide an XP-Mode compatibility compatibility free update to Windows 7 (Professional, Ultimate & Enterprise). This add-on allows the earlier windows programs to run on 64-bit. Download Windows XP Mode with Virtual PC

It is remarkable that Windows 10 is available in two flavours, still the old 32 bit and 64 bit versions. You could check which version you have. If you have the 64 bit version of Windows 10 you should be able to use the free update to the 64 bit of Windows 7. If it is the 32 bit version you can install the software ‘as is’, should work fine.

The easiest way is to just try to install Waypoint. Windows 10 will either install Waypoint or tell you if the software is not compatible. In that case download the update.

There’s a free trial period/version so nothing to lose by trying.

A cryptic request was made which was seriously replied to by some of us and then no reaction whatsoever. Was it a joke, bad manners or themanoverboard really fell overboard?
