Can anyone recommend one vessel tracking app over another for android?
Marine Traffic is pretty good. It craps out every now and then, but it is pretty accurate for ports. You won’t be able to track a vessel offshore though.

I don’t know much about Android but Marine Traffic has always done me well on my iPhone. It only works when you have internet and ships only come in when they are in range of a listening station but that’s no better or worse than any other app.
My marine traffic isnt working right lately. When i type in a ships name it used to show it weather it was in range or not. Now it just says “no name found” i can still find the ship if it is in range and i know where it is (the boat im on for example) but not in the search feature.
Marine Traffic had been sketchy for Fourchon for the last 3 months. Lucky if it has half the boats displayed. It was great before that.
Marine Traffic is the process of upgrading their site that’s why it’s been screwed up lately.

Yeah…same here! What gives? They just went to a pay option, I wonder if they’re effing things up just to get people to switch to the paid subscription?
Damn.
Ok so its not just me then. Good.
