USMMA Just Got $54m for Campus Renovations

Sweat-n-Grease,

I figured you would apologize (even though I forgot that you originally were puerto kings point and listened with an open mind) but I try not to assume to much from people. Sorry for the “big enough man” dig.
I just looked through 200 of your 250 or so posts. All but a half dozen are about KP not being as awesome as in your day or a cruise ship stuck on a rock. Most of those are just you lamenting about days gone by. At least 30 times you throw your license out there like its an automatic qualifier for superiority. Only once did I find a post where you were trying to be helpful to a fellow seaman.

My favorite post of yours, Buster, is simply,
“oh c.captain”. Which you posted on at least 2 occasions.

Is that a good enough look? It wasn’t too long ago where the most prolific posters here were also the most helpful whether one needed licensing help, cfr questions, career path advice, or so forth. Guys like Capt Lee, Anchorman and many others made the forums a go to place for many mariners wanting straight answers. C.captain was like the crazy uncle at the reunion you tried to ignore.

I know there are many here tired of being belittled if they do not agree with him or you, hell, I think KP is a huge waste as well but I wouldn’t stand with the two of you on any argument.

This ought to be just the kind of fodder to keep your pacemakers kicking for days, have fun.
Why, rigdvr, does this mean we are no longer buds?

The last shipmate of mine to die while at sea was 32 year old male… He didn’t show-up for his watch, we found him dead in his bunk, autopsy, made when ship reached port, showed he died of a massive heart attack.
“C’est la vie say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell”

I never paid much attention to the goings-on at KP, and being a graduate I, at first, took umbrage with c.captain. I was enough of a man (couldn’t help posting THAT word again, as a certain forum member used it on me in a few posts back) to grasp just what c.captain was posting. This may be beyond your reach. rigdvr.

It means what it says. You constantly call people names, belittle them, and take pride in running anyone who stands up to you into the ground. You call it a victory when they realize arguing with you is like being in the Special Olympics…even if you win, you’re still retarded.

Everyone knows someone like you. Either they try to make a point “valid through volume” or put you down with little slams,

I did make a sport out of knocking you around yesterday. Bored at the dock I guess, but I stand by every word I typed.

Nice. Remember, you’re not as anonymous as you think. Idiotic comments like these aren’t taken so lightly anymore…especially by DHS and the USCG. Terroristic threats could definitely jeopardize ones ability to remain a master. Good thing I know more than your screen name…makes reporting easier.

Sorry, Capt about my smart ass remark …
., but I stand by every word I typed.
again I say whatever, you obviously are not a friend so so be it…you aren’t the only one here and I do not lose sleep over that fact.

Yeah, and I have access to C4? Come on…it’s joke son

Now what, I say what’s the big idea bashin’ me in the bazooka that-a-way boy!

sheesh…that kid’s about as sharp as a pound of wet liver :stuck_out_tongue:

John, that makes us a club of two, but as Groucho Marx said “I don’t care to belong to a club that accepts people like me as members” yet in this case I’ll make an exception.

.

Damned that was one funny sarcastic man…I hope to be him when I grown up!

.

This is why I like this forum plenty of love, respect, and admiration for each other!!!

Maybe his son wanted to grow up to be like you? lol

In actuality, the Duluth’s departure for the Pacific that day did not go unrecorded. Another member of the crew was Arthur Marx (photo, right), son of the famed Groucho Marx, who recalled his experiences as a Yeoman aboard the Duluth in a now out-of-print book entitled Son of Groucho. In it, Marx wrote:…

Yes i was kidding. Merely turning the pointy stick around for a while, but thanks for your concern. Had my fun at the good capt’s expense…moving along.
Bored at the dock I guess, but I stand by every word I typed.
“Bored at the dock” ye say!!!
rigdvr. you are strange. I was never ever “bored at the dock.” I know, you never experienced what it’s was like to be a Merchant Seaman, back when our Nation actually had a Merchant Marine. It’s not your fault.
Yes i was kidding. Merely turning the pointy stick around for a while, but thanks for your concern. Had my fun at the good capt’s expense…moving along.
Why move along? What’s left of our Merchant Marine, your input is interesting. Perhaps you may see us in a different lens, perhaps not.

Well, we are, after all, Merchant Seamen.

My grandfather was a merchant mariner during world war II, buried in the national cemetery. That was the time of true merchant mariners, I doubt you sailed as such. He also didn’t throw his credentials around in people’s face, belittle people for their personal beliefs, or assume to know what others have or have not experienced.

So I guess you can call yourself a merchant seaman all you want, but by the standard he set as an example for me, you could not call yourself much of a man.

As much as it bothers you, I am a merchant mariner. If you wish everything to be as it once was, turn off your Internet, go to the attic, and retrieve your abacus.

THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN EFFING THREAD ABOUT KP GETTING ANOTHER DUMPTRUCK LOAD OF MONEY TO BE WASTED ON ENDLESS FACILITIES INPROVEMENTS! LET’S END THIS NAME CALLING AND SMACK TALKING SHIT NOW!

Mikey, please close this thread if these guys don’t all climb down!

I am a 71 year old retired Merchant Seaman, I sailed with many seamen who were in WWII, several became life long friends, sadly all have passed away. I was called into the Navy and fought in Nam, took my honorable after “completion of required service,” returned back to to sea where I belonged. I have close to four decades sailing, many years as Chief Engineer. I am not in the least “bothered” by the likes of you, however replies with you, rigdvr, have ended.

Edit to post, one of the several life long friends who sailed in WWII was from Alabama. He worked for Waterman Steamship Company - now wouldn’t that one be a dicey coincidence.
Maybe his son wanted to grow up to be like you? lol…
Oh, I hope not…that would have been a terrible fate if he had :stuck_out_tongue:

Btw, thanks for posting the link to the story of the DULUTH. Hard to imagine those days when anything what floated (or floated most of the time) would be sent to sea with crews of green kids who had no idea of what fate had in store for them? Perhaps the ignominious fate of being Mr. Roberts on some backwater tramp doing nothing but sitting as the war steamed by or taking a bomb in a powder magazine and finding one’s ship turning instantly into shrapnel!
