Oh, I knew that. I was hoping for other details like Union affiliation, pay, company, etc…
I worked with a guy who sailed on those Kuwaiti tankers. He, and I want to say they, were MM&P.
MAGA, OOM. MAGA, OOM. Sitting in lotus position and hypnotizing yourself. LOL
I sailed on them, yes MMP top to bottom, before that I had sailed with Boston Ocean, which was non-union.
Those were interesting times
What’s that supposed to mean? What has a lotus got to do with anything CHAPLAIN
I guess the Iranians stepped over obama’s “RED” line. they should put mercenaries, on the cost paid by the oil companies.
What does Obama’s “red line” in Syria have to do with the US seizing ships loaded with Iranian crude in 2020?
I wonder how much domestic US politics have to do with the present step-up of US activity in the Gulf? (And in the South China Sea)
Talking tough on Iran and China is a good way to win election. (Remember, the next election is only 15 months away)
Hopefully they will not talk themselves into a real war.
It’s the position many use while chanting their mantra. Like you do.
Marines get “paid 24/7”. They are already in the region, all they would do is move from one place to another. This would just like when they train, which goes on every day.
Honestly this should have been initiated a few years ago. The Iranians have been asserting and flexing their muscles off and on, lately it has become untenable. The US Navy ships have been toyed with without any reasonable deterrent being deployed, this has Emboldened them further each time. A “hands off” posturing isn’t going to work. Until the Iranians are held Accountable for their actions they will Continue, Marines shipboard will be an Awesome First Line of Defense, will there be a Second and Third to back them up. I am not a warmongerer, that said it is my belief that Iran is due a response as a consequence to their actions, each and Every one. Diplomacy has Failed at Every Turn.
Hmmm… Sounds a lot like Afghanistan. How’d that nation building exercise work out?
Can anyone please make the case how it is the American taxpayer’s job and/or why it’s worth risking American military members’ lives to protect foreign flagged ships with foreign crews?
My guess would be that the real owners are Americans who can afford to pay for folks to work peacock alley in the Waldorf, a.k.a. Lobbyists.
Sounds like the USA.
