Typhoon Nalgea continues to strengthen over the western North Pacific some 645nm east northeast of Manila. Nalgea currently has max winds of 80kts and is now forecast to strengthen to near 100-110kts before reaching northern Luzon around 0600Z on October 1[SUP]st[/SUP]

Friday Update
Typhoon Nalgae was closing in on Luzon this afternoon with max winds of about 115kts. Hurricane force winds extend outward only 35nm from the center and storm force (5okt+) extend out about 55nm. Nalgae is forecast to make landfall shortly and could peak at 125kts just prior to landfall around 0000Z Oct 1[SUP]st[/SUP]. Nalgae will cross Luzon and reemerge over the South China Sea about 9-12 hours later with peak winds near 85kts.
