Surfaces that tend to capture volatile compounds from air and release them later. Carpets, gypsum board, ceiling tiles, and upholstery are all sinks.
Never fart on your sofa or sitting in a car as an hr later one may get hugely embarassed .
Quite a challenge for nonnative speakers

Sorry Charlie but fluids rise when heated when in Earth’s gravity, it is called convection. Heat flows in all directions through radiation and/or conduction.
A heat sink is a device which “sinks” heat produced by a source. Like electricity, it moves from source to sink.
