The Navy reportedly asked Carnival Cruise Line for help with its ongoing aircraft carrier maintenance issues
Whatever happened to KISS?
I have long been impressed with large pax cruise ship refits. First of all the immense logistics involved with the turnaround times but also the success of them overall. Out on time and right back into a full-on sailing schedule. The military can learn something.
The navy scheduled a three month “post-sea trial maintenance period” which wasn’t even met - WTH? How many of us would have survived that with our jobs intact? Who would want to? I appreciate they are complex vessels but I look over at them next door (as we slide in, out, and back to work) with something like envy, or is it contempt? No let’s call it envy or jealousy but I don’t actually want that kind of a job.
