Adeveloping TD11W over the western North Pacific about 670NM east of Manila, Philippines was moving WNW and is close tobecoming a TC. TD11W will trackwest-northwest and likely will be close to typhoon strength as it approachesLuzon in 36-48 hours. Once past Luzon itwill likely become a typhoon over the South China Sea in about 72 hours.
11W has deepened rapidly into Typhoon Utor and was moving westward over the western North Pacific about 420 NM east of Manila, Philippines with winds now to 90 knots. Utor is forecast to move west-northwest reaching the coast of Luzon around 18z-21Z 11 August with max winds over 100 knots, perhaps 110 knots. Utor will weaken over Luzon emerging over the South China Sea about 06Z on the 12th but likely still at typhoon strength.
