The CG website says that only two schools are approved for this class; STAR and Quality Maritime. STAR only offers it once a year and they don’t know when the next time will be. QM offers it, but few and far between. Anyone else take it at another school? Appeals? I seems that BRM covers the same material.

BRM has to be part of the refresher course, but there’s other stuff in the refresher course besides BRM. BRM alone won’t do it. We’ve had a few appeals on this same question, they have all been denied.
Just to let everyone know - Now that the NMC is requiring more mariners at renewal to to do the refresher training. We at QMT are increasing how often we off this course due to increased demand.
