I know of very few people that have gotten there mmc with a DUI. It’s is very hard an a lot of factors play into the decisions. Like the severity of the offense, anyone hurt/ killed, also a lot of times with anything involving the coast guard it comes down to who evaluates your application. Some times you’ll get a prick an wouldn’t let you have something even if your suppose to an other times you’ll get a awesome evaluator an they will give you what you request an sometimes even throw in something you qualify for but didn’t apply for. I’ve heard all kinda of stories biggest thing is what kind of evaluator you get an the severity of your offense.
