Most mariners leave seafaring life early and seek their fortune ashore, but not all are great success stories.
Here is one that did succeed (Marrying a rich wife helped)

PS> Not all Captains from Sorrento is as lucky.

He started his shipowning carrier with a small loan from his Mother-in-Law and bought one small second hand ship in 1970:
