It really isn’t all that exciting. I’ve put together a ten minute time lapse video with my gopro that I have posted http://newenglandwaterman.com/2013/09/06/a-couple-days-here-in-the-life/ here on my blog. Let me know what ya’ll think. I just can’t wait for Oregonblitz to tell me I’m doing it wrong…
VERY NICE!! I’ve been looking into doing some time lapses. What kind of camera did you use?

Thanks, I used a gopro three black edition. Great camera. The built in wifi allows you to control it with a remote, or your ipad or iphone with an app. Makes starting and stopping it easy from inside of the wheelhouse!
Gonna have to check that out. They probably got it on Amazon.
Thanks for making the video! There’s nothing closer to the real thing then a video. Much appreciated Brother.
Quite a difference from the last time I was in Fourchon. What I remember was one dock that would hold 2 crewboats and 2 workboats. There was an old gutted submersible bay rig nearby that the boats would lay up. It was a long walk down a coleche road to an old trailer house beer joint.
Great vid, makes me wish my Dp License needs to hurry up and get here. Been at the house for two months and getting a little bored… OK I maybe I do miss the shuffle just a little bit.
Plus there are just too many people here on land.
Very nice job! I’ll refer friends to that link when I get the, “What exactly do you ‘do’ down there?” question.
Thanks!
Pretty cool! You guys sure drive backwards alot though! Hopefully ill be seeing this first hand before to much longer.

Haha, I noticed the backward thing too! It sure is a different line of work down there. The maneuverability of those mud boats is amazing.
Shame you filmed Fourchon on light traffic days! If it was only that wide open all the time…
Interesting that the last comment was from a person known as G.Chouest. I wonder if that was truly him? If it is, that goes to show anonymity goes a long way on this site. Be careful what you say if your identity is known to the masses.
We drive backwards to take miles off the odometer

Understood Cameron, but it didn’t work on the Ferrari!
Cool video
I just ordered my Gopro 3 Black on Amazon. Out of curiosity I was wondering what you had your exposure settting for the time lapse? 20 seconds?? Also, do you favor any certain type of a mount?

Depending on what we are doing I either use 5 or 10 seconds, with a play back rate of .05 seconds a frame. The suction cup mount is by far the most versatile for this kind of thing.
Cool GoPro video. I’m sure there aren’t many videos out on the interwebz from the wheelhouse perspective.
