I’m guessing they were unlocked for discharge?
Unlocked and also empty by the way they are floating.
I wouldn’t be so quick to blame the weather. Isn’t there’s a railhead near that terminal?
Don’t trains only attack hospital ships?
Most empty containers are for return to the Far East.
Maybe newly loaded and not yet secured?
If they were loaded at the top of the stacks, the semi-auto twistlocks would have locked as soon as they were loaded. Prior to discharge though, all the twist locks are unlocked so the cranes can lift them off.
Also, the boxes on top may be close to empty with lighter cargo for stability purposes. Either way, I’ve never seen containers blow off of a ship at the berth. Wild stuff.
And yachts. We learned that last week.
This is why we can’t have nice things.
