I sail with MEBA and have all the unlicensed ratings and AS-E on my MMC. Was contemplating trying to pick up relief (60 day) pumpman, QMED or Reefer-Electrician jobs while I let my MEBA shipping card age and am on vacation. I guess I’d be a C book in SIU as a dude off the street but I’ve seen my company sometimes have trouble finding pumpman reliefs. Anyone have any thoughts about whether this plan would or could work? What halls to go to to maximize my chances as a C book? Any and all input is appreciated.
There is an unofficial SIU facebook group where guys post job boards around the country. Just what I heard from a QMED watch partner. Might be worth a look.
