Seafarers' access to health care on board

At the height of covid some seafarers with health problems were not allowed access to medical care in some countries.
However, even before covid, some of the problems seafarers encounter in accessing good quality healthcare (should the need arise) were evident.
Although we recognise that seafaring inevitably carries some inherent risks, we (at the Seafarers International Research Centre) think that some improvements could be made to benefit seafarers. We have therefore embarked on a study designed to capture real experiences and views of seafarers on how health and healthcare access for seafarers can be improved.
We need as many active seafarers (cruise or cargo) as possible to complete our survey or take part in an interview. Please can you help us by publicising the study, distributing the link, and/or taking part.
