I noticed Alex Salmond, the leader of the Scottish National Party resigned today. The guy is probably disgusted at the results. Almost the entirety of Scotland voted to remain part of Great Britain. Only Glasgow with it’s adjacent regions and Dundee voted to leave the Union.
I also suspect Sean Connery has been stinking pissed drunk all of today…drinking SCOTCH of course!

Not surprised at the outcome. To be honest I thought the differential would be greater. From my experience observing human nature it has to be pretty bad before people will make a change from a known situation to an unknown.
Some may wish to differentiate between the English, the Scots, the Welsh, or the (Northern) Irish; but in the end they are (at least for now) all British. Just as in the US, many respects we may identify ourselves regionally, or by individual State, we are part of a greater whole, i.e, Americans.
Just my 2 cents on the matter.
Reminds me of the Bloc Québécois attempts to secede from Canada. I’m sure they would have been better off on their own.

Oh well…the voters have spoken and the decision was made for good or bad. Now we will have to see if Scotland does get that which was promised to it but if it doesn’t, then in 20 years there can be another vote and then I doubt very seriously that the results would be the same as on Thursday.
