Ok, cranking out studying for my 1600t exams next month, and I’ve run into a series of questions that I’m not quite understanding the result. These 3 questions are identical, with the exception of where the rule applies (Inland Only, International Only, Both).
From reading the rules, the answer should not change, yet lapware shows different answers. Just checking with the masses here to see if it’s a me problem or a question problem.
CG#10687
BOTH INTERNATIONAL & INLAND
If a towing vessel and her tow are severely restricted in their ability to deviate from their course, they may show lights in addition to their towing identification lights. These additional lights may be shown if the tow is _______.
A) Pushed ahead
B) Towed Alongside
C) Towed Astern
D) All of the Above
CG#10961
INTERNATIONAL ONLY
If a towing vessel and her tow are severely restricted in their ability to deviate from their course, the towing vessel shall show lights in addition to her towing identification lights. When shall these additional lights be shown?
A) If the vessel is towed alongside
B) If the vessel is towed astern
C) If the vessel is pushed ahead
D) All of the above
CG#10057
INLAND ONLY
If a towing vessel and her tow are severely restricted in their ability to deviate from their course, lights in addition to the towing identification lights must be shown. These additional lights shall be shown if the tow is which of the following?
A) Towed stern
B) Pushed ahead
C) Towed alongside
D) All of the above
Rule 27 (regardless of inland or international) does not differentiate between types/method of tow. Lapware provides “all of the above” to be correct for Inland only, while “towed astern” is correct for Int only and both.
Am I missing something? Why is it not all of the above for all 3 versions of this question?
