Hello,
Is this Rules question worded correctly? Seems to me there may be a typo.
Thanks,
Pat

Rule 24
instead of the light prescribed in Rule 23(a)(i) or (a)(ii), two masthead lights in a vertical line. When the length of the tow, measuring from the stern of the towing vessel to the after end of the tow exceeds 200 meters, three such lights in a vertical line
Whoops, yeah youre right of course, I got thinking for a second the tow had to be more than 250m.
Shouldn’t answer D require four mast lights since the length of the towing vessel is greater than 50m and the length of the tow is greater than 200m?
Yeah this question is wrong, a vessel with that light configuration is either:
Tug less than 50, Tow greater than 200
or
Tug Greater than 50, Tow less than 200.
Head on, a 55 meter tug with a 200 meter tow would be showing 4 white lights in a vertical line.
The correct answer should be C.
