The hull that will become KIR’s new toy, the research vessel REV, has been launched at the VARD yard in Tulcea, Romania. It will be towed to Vard Langstein yard in Norway for outfitting and to Germany for final touches and commissioning, before delivery in late 2020. or early 2021:
REV Ocean is still at Vard Brattvåg Shipyard, but has already been out on her first yard trial. Covid-19 travel restriction has delayed the outfitting:
Delivery is expected sometime later this year, or first part of next year.
